Recipes
This is a little link collections of recipes I found. Some I have tried, more are still awaiting their first implementation. I keep them here as a sort of ToDo list.
Tried and Tested
- Gemüse-Lasagne
- Möhren-Orangen-Suppe: einfach, lecker, scheckt auch (verwöhnten) Kindern gut
- Chicken Bean Soup: variation of a recipe from Maureen F. McHugh.
- Finnische Pfefferkuchenmuffins: just right for the season, very easy to do, very easy to enjoy.
- Schokoladenkekse: Very easy to do and delicious. Don't substitute the vanilla with some artificial and get some really dark chocolate!
- Biscotti: I did this several times, some with vanilla/orange zest substitues, some with the real stuff. The result was as expected: you cannot beat the real thing. One caution: bake less long than in the recipe so that the biscotti keep a little moisture and do not turn into zwieback.
- Boeuf a la Nicoise: a recipe from friends in Cologne. Really nice and as spicey as you like.
Have to do it again.Have done it again, even better than the first time.
Awaiting Execution
- Chiffon Cake
- Polenta Pizza
- Hot Cross Buns (Easter Bakery)
- Turkey Sausage: an american sausage not known in Germany? How could that happen?
- Salade de Pomme de Terre au Paprika Fumé: another kind of potato salad
- Chestnut Pecan Biscotti: dark biscottis, must have
- Gateau Sirop Muffins: dark brown, not too sweet muffins. Perhaps try a german version with Rübensaft?
- Chocolate Peanut Butter
- Crusted Beef with Pepper Relish
- Cake a la Banane Flambee et Noix de Pecan Caramelisees
