TUAW reports that his Jobness confirms iPhone to be a closed platform. That leaves me a little disappointed.
The ultimate digital device? Pull the other one, Steve.
My friends know me as a long time opponent of all-in-one devices. Here is my view on the iPhone:
- It's not an iPod: people who buy large iPods want to have their whole music library on it. People who work out like the size and weight of the nano/shuffle and live with the memory limitations because of that. The iPhone will not satisfy either type of iPod users.
- It's not a computer: as it is closed. 'nuf said.
- It's a bloody nice and large phone: therefore the name, maybe.
one percentof world domination (which always reminds me of the startups in the first bubble).
It still like that Apple will come out with it. Why? Because I want the next generation iPod to have such a display and UI! Just wait...
