A colleague of mine, utterly frustrated by his suddenly non-functional Dell PC, today got a nice and shiny Mac Pro. Wonderful machine. He had two Dell 20" connected to his PC which are now fed by the Mac, but he is unable to use the displays in portrait mode. Which he, for some reason, prefers.
Googling around it seems that the ATI cards offer portrait modes on OS X, but the nVidia driver does not. Why for [insert you favorite deity here] sake not? Windows on the boot camp side, can do it, so there is nothing crippled on the cards. Just a driver issue.
We are trying to get a statement from Apple through our local dealer, but maybe someone else has a suggestion? Anyway, I will post what came out of this hick up.
