While this makes a great opportunity for all Mac lovers to overcome their fears of intelligence drain to Ubuntu, Tim has made an interesting comparisions in his posts. Interesting for Apple and the Linux community. I am sure both sides will read it with interest.
Personally, I count myself as a Linux Server guy, a Mac Laptop fan and a Windows desktop slave. For now. I sadly have to use Windows at work, the projects have windows as target platform and ever so often a DLL (shudder) is dropped into my lap. Sigh! But the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter. There is this Mac Pro thing and VmWare/Parallels option in my future which makes me drool.
And most interesting of all: there is not one, really, literally nobody of Credibility which advocates Windows. Neither current, nor Vista. Nobody. It used to be different in the 90s, but Microsoft has fallen behind technically so much and is harassing its genuine user base and doing all sort of things to drive its customers away. They are now fully controlled by their sales force which always optimizes for the next quarterly results. Even a monopoly cannot sustain that indefinitely.
